About CAPS

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides confidential and non-judgmental help with your personal growth and psychological wellness. CAPS specializes in mental health services which can help you express thoughts and feelings, gain perspective, alleviate emotional symptoms, improve coping skills, and make healthy changes in your life. 

Available Services

  • Brief assessments -  Short individual session to determine next steps.
  • Workshops - Skill-based group counseling that addresses specific concerns.
  • Group counseling - Longer term process groups that share a common concern.
  • Individual psychotherapy - One-on-one work with a Counselor. 
  • Triage - Urgent care for mental health crises. 
  • Couples counseling - Sessions to address relationship concerns (partners must be CSU students).
  • Consultation - Available to those concerned about students in distress. A helpful alternative is to file a CARE Team report.
  • Trainings - Mental health trainings and presentations for students, faculty, and staff.

Office Hours for CAPS and the Student Health Center are Monday -Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:45 PM and Friday 8:30 AM - 4:45 PM.  During office hours, a Counselor is available at designated times to assist students in crisis. Please call or walk in for more information.
