Academic Senate approved the new General Education (GE) Policy.
 
March 15, 2014
Last date for submission to the Office of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) via SharePoint of curriculum proposals that address quarter unit courses and programs, unless a special exception has been approved by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies.

Articulation of simple curriculum conversion in Assist.org begins.
 
Uploading of simple curriculum conversion into the Course Management System (CMS) begins.
 
March 21, 2014
Provost announces the composition of the "Exceptions Committee." The Provost will select three faculty y to serve with two college deans and the Associate Provost, whose collective role will be to give final review and recommendation to the Provost of requested exceptions to the "semester unit dominant mode" for conversion.
 
April 1, 2014
ERP Analysts (CO consultants) and University personnel begin the fit gap analysis sessions at Cal State LA and Bakersfield necessary for PeopleSoft systems conversion.
 
April 1-4, 2014
"Exceptions Committee" holds its first meeting and sets the date and time for its weekly meeting. Weekly thereafter the "Exceptions Committee" convenes to evaluate requests and make recommendations to the Provost.
 
April 15, 2014
General Education Subcommittee (GES) completes its invitation to the faculty to submit General Education (GE) courses for approval.
 
May 30, 2014
Deadline for departments to submit GE course proposals to the curricular dean of their home college; proposals are made available for college curricular consultation.
 
Deadline for 10% bonus for early completion of department/division/school approvals of curricular conversions, revisions, and additions submitted to colleges.
 
June 15, 2014
Development of the templates for the CAAR (degree audit) reports begins.
 
June 20, 2014

Deadline for 5% bonus for early completion of department/division/school approvals of curricular conversions, revisions, and additions submitted to colleges. "Completion" means the posting of all converted curriculum, including GE course proposals, by your Associate Dean to the Share Point site

Deadline for college curriculum committees to complete their review of GE course proposals and submit proposals approved by the college to the Executive Secretary of the University Educational Policy Committee (through the Office of Undergraduate Studies); proposals are made available for University curricular consultation and forwarded to the General Education Subcommittee of EPC for review
