The Apprentice Teacher Program (LAUSD)
The Urban Learning Program has joined with the Los Angeles Unified School District to offer students interested in teaching children with mild-to-severe disabilities the opportunity to begin teaching under the supervision of a master teacher while working as an instructional aide in a special education classroom. Students must be employed by LAUSD and belong to the Career Ladder Program. The program benefits include:
- $3,000 annual scholarship for each year of participation as an Apprentice
- Outstanding undergraduate and credential preparation
- A BA in Urban Learning or Mathematics
- Support and Guidance of a Master Teacher
- Paid Apprentice positions
