University Convocation
Fall Convocation marks the new academic year at California State University, Los Angeles. Fall Convocation is a new tradition at Cal State LA and began in 2013 to coincide with President Covino’s first official address to the campus community. In 2017, the University began a Spring Convocation that coincided with the move to a semester academic year.
Investiture
William A. Covino was invested as Cal State LA’s seventh president on May 9, 2014. Multiple events were planned for Investiture Week, which celebrated the ceremony’s theme of “Engagement, Service, and the Public Good,” while defining new aspirations for Cal State LA’s future as a great university in a great city.
