The PREM will provide mini-grants for CSULA student groups (e.g., Engineering, Physics and Chemistry clubs), who develop viable programs of local outreach (e.g., high school visits, demo presentations to the public, science field trips, etc.). Awards of several hundred to $1k will be provided every year for outreach activities designed to broaden the participation of underrepresented groups in science and engineering. Proposals will be reviewed by the Executive Committee. Emphasis will be given to efforts that can be shown to be sustainable and enduring to students, while having the potential to contribute to the enhancement of diversity in the field of materials research.
