The 2016 PCCLAS annual conference will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This year, the conference will focus on the diffusion of Latin American culture, ideals, and society through migration and displacement. PCCLAS invites scholars to consider the socio-cultural, economic, and political impact the Latin American diaspora has had on the global society, both historically and in the contemporary. PCCLAS invites panel and paper proposals from scholars and students from all areas of the social sciences, humanities and the arts and/or cross-disciplinary studies and relating to Latin American/Latino/a Studies. All topics are welcome, but proposals that address the conference’s theme will be given priority in the program. Selected papers will be published by the University of Nevada Press as an edited volume in the book series, Migration, Demography and Environmental Change: Global Challenges (Co-Editors, Tiffiany Howard and Nerses Kopalyan)

Single paper proposals should include: paper’s title and abstract (250 words), complete name, affiliation (if appropriate) and contact information.

Panel proposals are limited to 4 presenters and 1 discussant/chair and should include: the session’s title and the same information required of single paper proposals for each of the session’s presenters and discussant/chair.
