Don't Pollute! Change the Way You Commute

The Commuter Services Office provides faculty, staff, and students with an extensive Rideshare Program. The following programs are available to assist you in your commute to Cal State LA.

Metro NextGen Project

As you may know, Metro NextGen Project proposes major service changes to its existing bus service. The Metro Public Hearing Pamphlet has a list of public hearings that will run from August 19th thru August 27th at different locations. Please review the proposed bus line changes that may impact your commute to campus, and to other communities. The approved changes will take effect in December 2020. You are encouraged to voice your comments by either attending a scheduled hearing, calling or by completing the webform to participate in the NextGen Webinar.

Check out the NextGen Bus Plan video to learn more on this project.

Spring 2020 U-Pass Update

Due to the challenges of COVID-19, Metro offered to extend the Spring 2020 U-Pass to cover the Summer 2020 pass period free of charge. However, the deadline to request the summer extension was June 12th.

Spring 2020 U-Pass holders that missed the deadline to extend their pass for Summer, may request any possible remaining credit for non-use of the pass to Fall 2020 or Spring 2021, or a refund can be requested by completing a Spring 2020 U-Pass Credit Claim Form. The deadline to request a credit applied to Fall 2020 is August 10, 2020. For Spring 2020 credit or a refund, the deadline is November 16, 2020.

For those that met the extension deadline, the Summer 2020 U-Pass will be valid from June 1 to August 16, 2020. Summer 2020 U-Passes need to be activated onto the bus/rail fare validator no later than June 30th

If you have any questions, please contact Cal State LA Commuter Services at [email protected] or call (323) 343-5277.

Note: The U-Pass is a Metro Transit item and is sold as a non-refundable item. As such, Transportation Services is working with Metro to develop the protocol for the calculation of any future credit or refunds for the Spring 2020 U-Pass. Due to this process, the determination of any amounts is estimated to be completed until July 30, 2020. We cannot at this time guarantee any amount or that requests can be approved.
