Cal State LA Commuter Services understands the changes that Covid-19 has created. We and the transit agencies we work with are committed to providing a safe method of commuting to campus. Here are is a list of the agencies we work with and what we are all doing to ensure safety during the pandemic.

Metrolink

At Metrolink, safety is our foundational value. As the world continues to change around us, the work we must do to protect your safety evolves and expands. Here are some steps Metrolink is taking to protect riders.

How Full is My Train? - A new tool that allows you to adapt your commute time to off-peak periods when trains might be less busy.

Enhanced Cleaning - In March 2020, Metrolink added enhanced cleaning on their trains and at the locations where our employees work.

Face Coverings - riders are required to wear a face mask or covering at stations and onboard trains. We are all in this together, so if you forgot to bring one, the conductor will provide one for you.

Contactless Ticketing - Download the Metrolink Mobile App to buy, store, and show your ticket.

Metro Taking Steps to Keep You Safe

Metro is here for you as we continue our response to the COVID-19 crisis. To help prevent the spread, Metro is taking the following steps.

Heightened Cleanliness - Metro has strengthened its cleaning regimens at Union Station and major transit hubs.

Hand Sanitation Stations - Metro has begun installing sanitation stations and hand sanitizer dispensers at major transit stops and stations to allow riders to wash their hands.

Social Distancing - We ask riders to do their best to spread out, staying at least six feet from others.

Face Coverings - Metro requires riders to wear cloth face coverings or masks.

Foothill Transit

Foothill Transit is taking the following steps to protect its riders.

Face Coverings - Face coverings are required while onboard or waiting for the bus.

Rear Door Boarding - To help maintain social distancing, customers will use the rear door for entering and exit the bus.

Order Passes Online - Log into taptogo.net and follow the instructions for purchasing fares and passes online. Online pass sales are currently not available for Faculty/Staff enrolled in the Commuter Program, but you can still go contactless if you enroll. in payroll deduction.

Cal State LA Commuter Services

Commuter Services has always made commuter safety a priority. During COVID-19 we also recommend the following steps.

Social Distancing Protocols – Stay 6 feet apart and wear face coverings when in public. Follow Cal State LA’s Social Distancing Protocol

Go Contactless – Commuter Services makes its subsidy for Metrolink available through the Metrolink app. Also when enrolled in payroll deduction, Metro and Foothill passes can be loaded virtually. For more information contact Commuter Services via email.

We're All in This Together – Even with all these precautions, please remember to limit contact with others by staying home.
