The College of Business and Economics at Cal State L.A.
is a learning community of 110 full-time faculty and staff
and 3,500 students dedicated to the pursuit of excellence
in undergraduate and graduate education for a multicultural,
global environment. The College works to facilitate student-professor
interaction, strengthen individual learning and enhance
The Accounting Department is Cal State’s LA largest
academic department serving approximately 1,100 students
in its undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs.
Twenty full-time faculty members are employed by the Department.
These faculty members are among the very best accounting
professors in the country utilizing innovative approaches
to learning and state-of-the-art educational learning tools.
The faculty is considered some of the most gifted and honored
educators in the nation.
The Department is home to three very active student organizations,
Beta Alpha Psi (National Honorary Society in Accounting),
the Accounting Society and Toastmasters. The Department's
Advisory Board plays a very important role in assuring that
our programs properly prepare graduates for an exciting
and rewarding career in public accounting, private industry,
governmental and not-for-profit organizations.
