Eugene Adams: Eugene graduated Cum Laude from Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. He completed his Master of Arts in Educational Counseling at CSUDH. Prior to joining CSULA, he worked at various community colleges in over 7 different positions such as General Counselor, EOPS counselor, Athletic Counselor, Program Coordinator, instructor, assistant-professor, and as a College Recruiter. His interest and dedication to student success in the classroom and in the workplace has led to his creation of a new brand for students designed to create new jobs, new scholarships, and a new status for top students. In his free time, Eugene writes poetry, studies Eastern Philosophy, and the Martial Arts.

Bobbie Galaz: Bobbie is an alumna of CSULA holding a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in Psychology. Bobbie has been serving the students and faculty of CSULA for over ten years. In this time, she has served as Psychology Department Advisor, a general advisor for the UAAC (University Academic Advisement Center), Infrastructure Subcommittee for Semester Conversion, a Vocational Assessor for a non-profit organization, and has also taught for the College of Health and Human Services: HHS 101. Currently, she coordinates the Probation and Disqualification Procedures for the NSSAAC. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family.

David Levyssohn: David graduated from CSU, Monterey Bay with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He worked at CSU, Monterey Bay as a counselor and the Coordinator of Student Support Services (TRiO) while completing his Master of Arts in Education. His thesis titled, “Promoting First-Generation Student Success: Establish a Connection, Eliminate Confusion, and Build Confidence” is directly related to student success. After 8 years of working as an academic counselor and instructor, David returned to school in pursuit of a Master of Arts in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies from Fresno Pacific University. In fall 2013, David will begin doctoral work at CSU, Northridge. Prior to joining Cal State L.A., David worked as an academic counselor at CSU Monterey Bay, San Joaquin Delta College, and Fresno State. He has experience as an instructor of Freshmen Seminar courses at CSU, Monterey Bay, and Self-Assessment, Career Exploration, Academic Success, and Orientation courses at San Joaquin Delta College. He has also trained students, staff and faculty and taught classes in Conflict Resolution Education at Elementary Schools and High Schools in Fresno County. In his free time, David enjoys writing music, surfing, golf, and spending time with friends and family.

Valentina Ovasapyan: Valentina is the Administrative Support Assistant at the NSS Academic Advisement Center. She maintains undergraduate student records, places and removes holds for students who are on academic probation or have been disqualified. In addition to managing the daily operations at the Advisement Center, she maintains the advisors’ calendars ensuring timely appointments for our students. Valentina collects syllabi and orders textbooks for all NSS 101 and NSS 301 classes. Prior to joining the NSS Academic Advisement Center, she worked at the Department of Mathematics assisting the Associate Chair in hiring teaching assistants and part-time faculty, building quarterly class schedules and updating the department scheduling database. Prior to joining CSULA, Valentina was the Office Manager at a mortgage company for thirteen years.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, doing arts and crafts, painting, and spending time with her family, friends, and puppies.
