Content in Canvas

Overview

Although the Canvas web interface is accessible, it is the responsibility of each instructor to ensure that any content created or uploaded into Canvas is also accessible. If uploading PDFs, Word documents, or PowerPoint presentations, be sure that these documents are accessible before uploading. Refer to the Microsoft Office and PDF sections for more information on making these materials accessible.

Content created in Canvas using the text editor should be formatted so as to maximize accessibility. The following guide explores the rich content editor and other Canvas features needed to ensure accessibility.

For tips on ensuring the accessibility of your course files, please see Ally’s Accessibility Checklist.
