Proctored Final Exam:

Twice a week virtual office hours are offered through Adobe Connect. If you want to communicate with the instructor during the designated office hours, you will need to have quality microphone and web camera ready.

A webcam, microphone and speakers (or a headset with speakers) are NOT required, unless the student desires to speak directly with faculty then they are helpful.  Students are welcome to use the built in chat feature in Adobe Connect.

Online Meetings:

Throughout the course we will have online meetings.  These online meetings will be conducted in a webinar format using Adobe Connect.  The course is scheduled to have 4 such online meetings at the start of each Unit in the course.  Here are the steps to follow for each meeting:

Prior to the Adobe Connect Meeting obtain the following items:

  • a high speed internet connection

  • a computer with a built in camera (webcam is not required, but helpful)

  • a speaker on your computer (required)

  • and a microphone (e.g., headset that comes with the iPhone 4 or later) (required)

Speakers and a microphone are also required for Virtual Office Hours

Turnitin:

Faculty will use Turnitin for the course.

In this course we will utilize turnitin.com, an automated system which instructors can use to quickly and easily compare each student's assignment with billions of web sites, as well as an enormous database of student papers that grows with each submission. Accordingly, you will be expected to submit all assignments in both hard copy and electronic format.
