The goal of Well-Being Wednesdays is to promote inner well-being by encouraging a campus culture based on compassionate engagement and mutual support. Mind Matters and Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) volunteers will be tabling on Wednesdays. They will be supported by Well-Being Ambassadors and the new Mind Matters eagle mascot, Welly, as well as communications that reinforce the values of care and compassion.
SHAC & HEALTH HUT
The Student Health Advisory Committee will be on the Main Walkway inside the Health Hut to educate peers on health and wellness issues. Stop by the yellow Health Hut and learn great tips on how to deal with college stress.
Faculty and staff members who have completed Cal State LA's Mental Health First Aid training aid will be wearing "We Care, I Care" buttons every Wednesday. These individuals are campus Well-Being Ambassadors who are trained to be helpful and compassionate. Feel free to start a conversation about how Cal State LA can assist students dealing with stress.
WELLY THE MIND MATTERS EAGLE
Be on the lookout for Welly, the new Mind Matters mascot. Every Wednesday, Welly will be on campus to help promote inner well-being and healthy living. You can meet Welly—and take a photo with him using custom Snapchat geofilters—by visiting the Mind Matters table on the Main Walkway.
