Personal Preferences

Personal Preferences

Personal preference files for applications such as Netscape Navigator or NetNews are stored in a sub-directry of the network /home directory. These files store information about preferences and use which are unique to each user. Windows applications which use personal preference settings, usually called ini files, have been configured to look in the H:/win_ini/ directory to read these files. The network /home directory is mounted as the H: drive when a user logs in at a workstation, making these files available from all networked workstations.
