  • Indiana University School of Music Library. On a more scholarly note, this Music Library has compiled a list of worldwide Internet resources on such topics as Genres, Composers and Composition, Research and Study, Commercial World of Music, and other Miscellaneous Resources. Many links to other lists of links are located on this large and very useful site.
  • LII Music Links.  Extensive list of music links by topic, from the Librarian's Index to the Internet.
  • Yahoo! Entertainment > Music.  Browse an extensive listing of links by artists, instruments, genres, and many other categories.

Classical

  • All Classical Guide.  Information database for classical music includes biographies,  discographies, and a music glossary.
  • Classical is Cool. Contains hotlinks, a Concert Music list of the coolest classical music sites from around the world, sites of composers, artists, orchestra/chamber organizations, opera/musicals, cultural/education resources and other people's classical pages. Also presents contests of classical music knowledge, film notes, and a list of programs on classical music radio stations.
  • Classical Music Department (WWW Virtual Library)  Extensive set of links divided into categories like:  biographical information, online periodicals, reference, reviews, etc.
  • ClassicWeb. Contains information on classical music jobs (e.g., orchestra vacancies), performers, education, festivals and a music typesetting service. Can be searched by type of instrument. There are also links to other music web sites. There's even a multilingual marketplace for buying and selling musical instruments from piccolos to pianos.
  • DW3: Classical Music Resources.  Self-proclaims to be "the world's most comprehensive collection of classical music links."  Maintained by the Duke University Music Library.
  • Opera Glass.  Opera information server on the WWW.  Source for detailed information including:  libretti, source texts, performance histories, synopses, discographies, and more.
  • RISM Online. RISM (Repertoire International des Sources Musicales) was established in 1951 by the International Musicological Society and the International Association of Music Libraries. The project's purpose is to locate and identify primary music source materials in libraries throughout the world. The RISM site contains four databases: "RISM Series A/II," which are records of manuscripts by composers born after 1580 and deceased prior to 1770, cites more than 30,000 individual music manuscripts in more than 80 libraries. The US Libretto database lists some 13,000 librettos from the Albert Schatz Collection (located in the Library of Congress). The "Libraries Directory" describes all libraries holding RISM materials and the "Bibliographic Citations Database" cites all secondary sources mentioned in the source records.

  • KLON 88.1 FM Radio.  America's Jazz Station, broadcasting from Long Beach State.  Site includes program guide, local venue and music links, etc.  You can also listen online!
  • K-Mozart (KMZT 105.1 FM Radio).  Los Angeles and Orange County's only ALL Classical Radio Station.
  • L. A. Philharmonic Home. The online home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hollywood Bowl. Includes such topics as Education, Forums, Music and Musicians, Support, Special Events, What's New and the like. Has links to other music sites.
  • LA Weekly ~ Calendar.  See who's performing in the LA area.  Weekly listings of music venues by genre, and concerts--rock, jazz, pop and classical.
  • The Los Angeles Jazz Society.  The Society is dedicated to promoting, preserving, and perpetuating the American art form, Jazz.
