General Business

SIC Code (Standard Industrial Classification) Search. In this Department of Labor database, you can easily find Standard Industrial Classification codes, commonly know as SIC codes. You search the database by keywords, or by the four-digit SIC code.
North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The NAICS system is a cooperative effort between Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The system allows for comparisons of business statistics and related activities across all of North America. This web site will allow students to lookup the NAICS code and know its SIC equivalent.

Finance Specific
American Stock Exchange. This site provides market summaries, news, investment information, and other financial data.
California Code of Regulations. The Office of Administrative Law maintains an up-to-date listing of regulations for California. There is extensive updating of this site to provide the user with timely information or resources for administrative law.
Chicago Mercantile Exchange. This is the Web site for the venerable exchange of the same name. A wealth of background and statistical data is available at this site.
DataQuick. DataQuick is a highly respected research organization that provides analysis of real estate trends and developments. Statistics regarding housing market prices, sales, characterstics of housing, and other relevant data is regularly provided.
EDGAR database (SEC). EDGAR provides access to the daily, full, and archival indices of corporate SEC filings. Links are also provided to significant research centers. Emphasis is on public and recent filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Finance Index. This is the home page for the Journal of Finance as well as an important link to sites of interest to financial researchers and financial executives.

Finance Resources on the Web (NYU Professor Ian Giddyz). Coverage of both scholarly and practitioner oriented web sites in the field of Finance. Coverage includes general finance, financial management, corporate finance, investment research, risk management, and international finance.
Financial Times Group. . Leading articles from the Financial Times are provided along with stock market quotes from around the world, news briefs and investment information.
Stock Quotes
For both current and historical stock price data, students may consult the Library’s databases titled CRSP, Valueline, and Zacks. Additionally, we recommend that students consult the following web sites for stock quotes:
WSRN (Wall Street Research Ne). Wall Street Research Net provides key financial information on actively traded companies and mutual funds. Its QuickSource component provides current and historical financial data comparison and also has ratio calculation and graphing capabilities.

Law Specific
Chicago-Kent College of Law. This is a metasite with links to the American Bar Association, law libraries, law listservs, law enforcement sources, and the most respected legal internet resource sites.
Cornell - Legal Information Institute (LII/World). This collection of legal materials, arranged continent by continent, and country by country, is designed to access judicial opinions, statues, and related legal sources or materials. It is one of the more comprehensive legal sites for international law.
Cornell - Legal Information Institute (LII/US & State). The LII collection of state legal materials gathers together, in a state by state arrangement, Internet-accessible sources of the constitutions, statutes, judicial opinions, and regulations for the fifty states, plus the D.C., and the U.S. territories and affiliated jurisdictions. The LII is also the best and easiest source for finding the Uniform Acts and which states have adopted these acts.
Miscellaneous Legal Web sites. The Web sites listed below provide legal commentary, federal and state cases, legal forms, treatises, and homepages of state and federal agencies working closely with law and law related issues. Access is also provided to international, federal, state, and municipal courts and their respective home pages.
Federal Procedural Rules. In order to effectively and efficiently use the Federal Court System, you must follow certain procedural rules related to appeals, evidence, and the like. The web sites below will link you to the appropriate Federal Regulations and Federal Rules.

THOMAS. This is the major legal research site of the United States Library of Congress. Links to both Senate and House gophers are also provided as well as access to the more important legal features of the Library of Congress and the full text of legislation.
Uniform Law Commission. This is the official site the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, in association with the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Drafts of Uniform and Model Acts available to help fulfill their mission to distribute information to the public.
WWW Virtual Library-Law. This is a metasite with information organized by subject. Related web sites are also organized by subject. Web site designers in the field of legal research regard this site as the benchmark or standard for legal research related Web sites.
Washington and Lee Law Library. Subject matter arrangement of the major legal gophers and significant resources for legal research.
