Aims for the status of the “most definitive…guide to museum-quality
fine art on the Internet”.
As of May 2001, provided links to more than 80,000 works
by more than 7,500 artists, largely via museum sites.
Emphasis is on painting and sculpture, but links to photography,
installation art, video art, digital and web-based art, folk art,
outsider art and architecture are included in some measure.
Largely organized by artist name, works can also be located
under movement, medium, subject and nationality of artist.
