The Freshmen IHE course focuses on the complexities of human
decision-making and the importance of thinking clearly and
effectively in order to lead a fulfilling, well-examined
life. Students will become more aware of the decisions they
make throughout their lives; the impact and influence of
various social, cultural, and environmental factors on those
decisions; and the impact of their
decisions on their
physical, social and cultural environments.
Academic and
information literacy skills will be stressed, along with
information on navigating the University, planning an
academic program (GE and Major), and student success skills.
This course incorporates skills for lifelong learning along
with information, activities, and content generally taught
in the freshmen IHE course. Therefore, this proposed course
fulfills both Block E and the Freshmen IHE requirement.
