NIS—Network Information Services Account

A Network Information Services (NIS) Account is a computer account that allows access to library electronic resources, such as article databases, ejournals, ebooks. It also allows you to have an CSULA campus email account and use computers in the Library.

An ID and Password are assigned to you when you apply and obtain the NIS account. You should memorize the ID and Password. You cannot change the ID, but you can change the Password if you feel it is not easy for you to remember. To change the Password, you can use a computer at any campus computer lab, or come to the Library Reference Desk where staff can help you.

GET—Golden Eagle Territory

GET is a Web site where you can access your grades, class schedule, financial information, registration appointments, holds, and much more. You can access GET at https://get.calstatela.edu. (BE CAREFUL: Don't forget to type the "s" at the end of "https", or you will get an annoying intermediate security page.)

Your GET ID and Password are different from your NIS ID and Password.

To access GET, click on "Eagle i-View Sign In," below the GET yellow banner, then enter your User ID and password.

User ID: W_______
Capital W followed by the last 7 digits of your CIN number
Password: GET____
Capital GET followed by your 4 digit registration PIN

Blackboard (formerly WebCT)

Blackboard (WebCT) is a Web-based course management system that allows faculty to create Web sites for courses that enhance or deliver course instruction. Students enrolled in courses supported with Blackboard have access to support materials posted by the instructor (using syllabi and assignments), links to Web-based materials, discussion boards and chat rooms, and online quizzing.

You use your NIS (campus computing account) ID and password to access Blackboard.

Library Electronic Reserves
The Library offers both Print and Electronic Course Reserves. To access electronic reserve materials, you need to use a password assigned by the class instructor.
ILL—Interlibrary Loan

To request and view your Interlibrary Loan material, you need to create an Interlibrary Loan account.

For book requests via All CSU's Union Catalog and for book or article requests via ILLiad Interlibrary Loan:
If you request books or articles via either the CSU Union Catalog or ILLiad Interlibrary Loan, you need to create your Interlibrary Loan account on the First Time User Registration for Interlibrary Loan page. If you cannot create your ILL account, you need to check your Eagle One Card at the Circulation Desk, 1st. Fl., Library North.
