How to Locate Lesson Plans... |
| ...in the ERIC database? |
Log into Ebscohost's ERIC.
- In the first search box, type "lesson plans" and in the adjacent box, select SU Descriptors to search it as a descriptor.
- In the next search box, type in your content keyword(s) e.g. "social studies, phonics," etc. Don't make a change to the adjacent box.
- In the Refine Search area, limit your results.
Date Published = optional
Journal or Document = Limit to Document (although lessons plans do appear in some journals)
Educational level = Select the level your desire, or leave set to "All"
- Once you get your results, sort by relevance.

This database includes items that students may be able to include in their lessons plans. It includes both high school and elementary school (junior) sections.

- Limiting by date is optional.

Locating Children or Juvenile Literature in the Library |
This Library has
a juvenile collection located in Palmer Wing 4th floor. The collection
is divided between fiction and non-fiction using the Dewey Decimal
Classification System. There is no separate juvenile reference
collection. The books about children’s literature are shelved
in the circulating collection which is arranged by Library of
Congress Classification.
To locate books by author and/or title, do a Basic
Search in the Library Catalog. However, if you want to find
juvenile books in Spanish (or other languages) and/or juvenile
books on a particular topic, then use the Advanced
Search. You may also add a limit by date of publication.
