Ken Ryan Program Description The Department of Technology offers four undergraduate programs (each with the B. S. degree) designed to prepare students for management careers in aviation; fire safety and prevention; graphic communications; and industrial/production technology. The B. S. degree in Graphic Communications has three concentration or special emphasis areas: management, marketing/sales or digital imaging/document management. The B. S. in Industrial Technology has two options: Aviation Administration or Production Technology. The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Arts is designed primarily for students who plan to become technology education teachers. There is also a Bachelor of Vocational Education degree in Vocational Arts that is offered for vocational teachers recommended by the California State Board of Examiners for Vocational Teachers. The B. A. degree in Industrial Arts and the B. S. degree in Industrial Technology/Production Technology Option are both approved subject matter programs qualifying the holder for the Single Subject Credential in Industrial and Technology Education. The Department also offers a Minor in Industrial Studies and three certificate programs: Electronic Technology; Fire Protection Risk Analysis and Reduction; and Fire Service Administration. The Department offers the M. A. degree in Industrial and Technical Studies which requires a thesis or project and which is designed to further develop leadership skills for business, industry, and teaching, and to meet credential requirements.
