Program Description

The study of French is conductive to proficiency in oral and written communication and also provides training in a humanistic discipline. The program offers an undergraduate major, and a minor for majors in other fields --typically languages, literatures, and history of Europe or of French- speaking countries. The program also offers a master’s degree that enables students to attain a high level of proficiency in the French language and literature in such pursuits as teaching, writing, and translating.
