Program Description

The English Department offers a broad spectrum of course studies ranging from the traditional areas of British and American literature to such subjects as world literature in translation, ethnic literature of the U.S., women writers, folklore, children’s literature, creative writing, critical theory, history and structure of the English language, film, and many levels of composition. The Department offers the an undergraduate major with options in Literature and Composition, Single Subject Teaching, and Creative Writing; a minor individually planned for majors in other fields such as business, the professions, and government service; a masters degree with options in Literature and Creative Writing; and a post baccalaureate certificate in Teaching Writing.

Geographical Coverage
