Program Description

The program of Chinese emphasizes functional communicative skills. Acquiring skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing provides students with direct access to the Chinese people and society. The course study of Chinese language, linguistics, literature, and culture broadens intellectual horizons and foster appreciation for linguistics and cultural diversity, and helps prepare the students to interact with people in mainland China, Taiwan, and Chinese communities in other countries.  The program offers an undergraduate major degree.
