The Friends of the Cal State LA University Library
support life-long learning through the development of library programs and resources. The group is composed of members from the campus and surrounding communities who have joined together to promote public awareness of the Library and raise contributions for its continued development and sustained level of excellence.   The Friends of the Library Board consists of library staff, emeriti, and other volunteers.  The Board conducts a yearly book sale to raise funds for new library materials purchases and also sponsors and presents "Meet the Author" events on campus each year.

Become a Friend and you will enjoy access to the CSULA Library materials and programs. Membership in the Friends of CSULA Library is open to individuals as well as businesses.

Members receive:

  • library borrowing privileges
  • access to library computers with a 1 year "Guest Account"

The CSULA Library was founded in 1947. It houses over one million books and journals and thousands of films and newspapers, as well as being a federal document depository. Library resources also include research assistance and on-line access to the Library’s catalog and internet data bases. The CSULA Library provides students, faculty and the community with extensive resources for life-long learning, information access and study.
