The Friends of the Cal State L.A. University Library
support life-long learning. The group is composed of members from the campus and surrounding communities who have joined together to promote public awareness of the Library and raise contributions for its continued development and sustained level of excellence.  The Board conducts book sales to raise funds for new library materials and other library needs.  It also sponsors and presents "Meet the Author" and other events.

Become a Friend and receive the satisfaction of knowing that your membership helps support the development, maintenance, and use of valuable library resources.  Members also receive:

  • Book borrowing privileges
  • Access to library computers with a 1 year "Guest Account"
  • Notices of Friends' books sales and other events (by email)
  • The Friends' newsletter (by email)

Membership* is open to individuals as well as businesses.  Memberships start at $35.00 per year.

The University Library was founded in 1947. It houses over one million books and journals and thousands of films and newspapers, as well as being a federal document depository. Resources also include research assistance and on-line access to the Library’s catalog and internet databases. The Library provides students, faculty and the community with extensive resources for life-long learning, information access and study.
