Metalib Version 3

There are some new and improved features in Metalib 3. Highlights of these new features are:

  • Allows us to accommodate the desire to order databases any way we want within a category. In version 2 the order was always alphabetical.
  • In version 3 all subject categories must have at least one sub-category, and it allows to have multiple sub-categories, which can match the current sub-categories we have within each subject list on our database pages.
  • On the title display, there is an ALL option, which allows users to page through all databases from A to Z.
  • MySpace allows users to create multiple personal database lists. For example, a user can set one database list for general information; another specific to a study area; and a third related to a specific research project, etc.
  • e-Shelf enables users to save records in personal folders. Within each folder the user is provided with the full record-specific functions. For instance, send the record by email, save it, and obtain SFX services for that record, etc.

Please note: this is an out of box version. The interface/wording will remain the same until we decide if we want to do local customization.
