VPN for Windows

Installing the VPN Client

  1. Download and run the VPN client installation file for your operating system. If prompted, authenticate with your myCSULA Identity username and password.
  2. The Junos Pulse InstallShield Wizard dialog box opens. Click the Next button.

  1. On the Setup Type page, select the Typical option, and then click the Next button.

  1. On the Ready to Install the Program page, click the Install button.

Note: Depending on your computer settings, a User Account Control dialog box may open, asking for permission to install the software. Click the Yes button to proceed.

  1. Once the installation has been completed, click the Finish button to exit the wizard.

Configuring the VPN Client

  1. Open Junos Pulse by double-clicking the Junos Pulse icon in the System Tray located on the right side of the Taskbar.

Note: If the Junos Pulse icon is not displayed in the System Tray, click the arrow on the left side of the System Tray to display hidden icons.

  1. In the Junos Pulse window, click the Add Connection button.

  1. In the Add Connection dialog box, do the following (see Figure 7):

  1. The connection is added to the Junos Pulse window. Click the Close button.

Connecting to the Cal State L.A. VPN

  1. Open Junos Pulse by double-clicking the Junos Pulse icon in the System Tray located on the right side of the Taskbar .

Note: If the Junos Pulse icon is not displayed in the System Tray, click the arrow on the left side of the System Tray to display hidden icons.

  1. In the Junos Pulse window, click the Connect button.

  1. When prompted, enter your myCSULA Identity username and password in the corresponding fields, and then click the Connect button.

Note: You can select the Save Settings check box to have Junos Pulse remember your login credentials.

  1. Once connected, click the Close button.

Disconnecting from the Cal State L.A. VPN

  1. Open Junos Pulse by double-clicking the Junos Pulse icon in the System Tray located on the right side of the Taskbar.

Note: If the Junos Pulse icon is not displayed in the System Tray, click the arrow on the left side of the System Tray to display hidden icons.

  1. In the Junos Pulse window, click the Disconnect button.

  1. Once disconnected, click the Close button.
