Quarantine Manager Training

Quarantine Manager Training

Quarantine Manager Overview

The Quarantine Manager is the web-based user interface portion of the anti-spam service. It gives users access to e-mail filtering functionality including viewing and managing messages that are quarantined (blocked), as well as managing user-specific sender lists.

Note:  Your e-mail messages will not be filtered until you log in to the Quarantine Manager and subscribe to the anti-spam service.

The Web Interface

The Quarantine Manager web interface (see Figure 1) is comprised of the following components:

Navigation Menu: the menu located on the left side of the page.
View Pane: the area to the right of the Navigation Menu.

The Navigation Menu contains links to seven pages:

  • The Blocked Messages page displays all quarantined e-mail messages that are determined to be spam.
  • The Deleted Messages page displays e-mail messages deleted by the user from the Blocked Messages page.
  • The Approved Senders page lists e-mail addresses that are known by the user to be legitimate sources of e-mail. E-mail messages from approved senders are delivered without being scanned for spam.
  • The Blocked Senders page lists e-mail addresses that are known by the user to distribute spam or viruses. E-mail messages originating from addresses in this list are blocked.
  • The Help page takes the user to the Quarantine Manager Training web site.
  • The Options page allows the user to subscribe to (and unsubscribe from) the anti-spam service.
  • The Logout page exits out of the Quarantine Manager and returns the user to the login page.

The View Pane will refresh every time the user selects an option from the Navigation Menu.
