Job Description
A Lead Digital Documentation Assistant is responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of various websites, multimedia content, instructional handouts, and other training and support documentation, as well as cross-training other Digital Documentation Assistants.
Qualifications
A Lead Digital Documentation Assistant must have excellent computer skills and the ability to type 35 wpm; must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite applications; must be proficient with HTML, CSS, ASP, PHP and JavaScript; must be familiar with web accessibility standards; must have knowledge of English sentence structure and syntax; must have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills; must have the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation; must be willing to learn new skills and concepts; must have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; must be able to cross-train other Digital Documentation Assistants; must be very detail-oriented, organized, punctual and reliable; must be able to multitask, report on the status of projects, provide time estimates, and meet deadlines; must have at least one to two years of experience as a Digital Documentation Assistant.
Duties
- Develop and maintain various websites that comply with departmental and University guidelines.
- Develop and update a wide variety of training and support documentation such as handouts and slide shows for publishing online and in hard copy.
- Proofread documents and format them according to departmental and University style guides.
- Check the clarity and accuracy of procedures in instructional materials.
- Convert various types of documents such as handouts and flyers to PDF and make them accessible before publishing online.
- Design and develop graphics and multimedia content.
- Assist with a variety of creative projects.
- Cross-train other Digital Documentation Assistants.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Evaluations
Periodic performance evaluations are conducted by the Digital Documentation Coordinator.
