IBM SPSS Statistics 22

Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) is a powerful program that allows users to manipulate data sets and use various statistics for data analysis. This workshop series is divided into four parts.

For step-by-step handouts and online training resources, visit the IBM SPSS Statistics Training page.

IBM SPSS Statistics 22 Part 1: Descriptive Statistics

This workshop covers the basics of SPSS - data entry, reporting and editing. Learn how to define variables and utilize basic functions and techniques in order to generate descriptive statistics from data entered into SPSS.

IBM SPSS Statistics 22 Part 2: Test of Significance

Practice running inferential statistics such as correlations, Independent and Paired-Samples T Test in order to test hypotheses and output statistical information about a population. This workshop also covers how to perform statistical analyses using Multiple Response Sets derived from multiple response questions as well as merging several data files into one.

Duration: 90 minutes

There are no workshops scheduled at this time.

IBM SPSS Statistics 22 Part 3: Regression Analysis

Perform three types of linear regression - simple, multiple and polynomial - in order to predict a specific value by estimating the coefficients of a linear equation. Chart editing and data computing are also covered.

Duration: 90 minutes

There are no workshops scheduled at this time.

IBM SPSS Statistics 22 Part 4: Chi-Square and ANOVA

Basic skills for hypothesis testing using the Chi-Square Test for Goodness of Fit as well as one-way and two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) are introduced. Importing Microsoft Excel files into SPSS and exporting output files to Microsoft PowerPoint are also included in this workshop. In addition, using scripting to perform redundant statistical analyses is shown.
