Requesting Web Space
Web space is available on the University web server (www.calstatela.edu) for publishing educational, research, and other academic related material. Web space may be requested by Cal State L.A. faculty, colleges, departments, centers, bureaus, institutes, as well as student clubs and organizations. Requests may take up to 3 business days to process.
Note: All users who need to access the University web server must have an NIS account.
Faculty
- Faculty who wish to have a web page generated for them based on a pre-existing template need to submit the Faculty Web Page Request Form.
- Faculty who wish to design their own web page and upload it to the University web server need to submit the Faculty Web Space Request Form.
- Faculty who wish to create an online course or publish course related material need to submit the WebCT Course Request Form provided by the eLearning Programs and Support Center (eLPS).
- Faculty who wish to post online course material and are in need of a Windows based server can submit a request for space on the Instructional Web Server.
Colleges and Departments
To request web space for a college or department, the college Dean or the department Chair needs to submit the Web Space Request Form. One person needs to assume responsibility for the content of the web directory. This person should be listed as the owner on the form. All other individuals who will need access to the web directory to maintain or update it should be listed under group.
Centers, Bureaus, and Institutes
To request web space for a center, bureau, or institute, the Director or the main administrator of the area needs to submit the Web Space Request Form. One person needs to assume responsibility for the content of the web directory. This person should be listed as the owner on the form. All other individuals who will need access to the web directory to maintain or update it should be listed under group.
Student Clubs and Organizations
To request web space for a recognized Cal State L.A. student club or organization, the President or the Vice President of the club or organization needs to submit the Student Club/Organization Web Space Request Form.
Note: Before requesting web space, the President or the Vice President must obtain an NIS account for his/her club or organization.
