Campus E-mail for Official University Communications

Beginning Winter Quarter 2008, campus-issued student e-mail will be the official means of communication between Cal State L.A. and students. University communications may include important deadlines, academic information, registration information, announcements, and advisories. To use your campus-issued e-mail, known as Outlook Web Access (OWA), you will need an NIS account. Students are encouraged to check their e-mail on a regular basis. You can login to OWA at https://mymail.calstatela.edu.

Got NIS?

In order to secure and protect campus resources, students will be required to login with their NIS accounts. An NIS account is currently required to access e-mail, the Library computers and databases, the campus wireless network, myCSULA, WebCT, and remote Internet connections. Effective Winter 2008, students will be required to use their NIS accounts to log into ALL computing resources including classroom and Open Access Lab computers. Students can pick up their NIS accounts from the ITS Help Desk located in the Library Palmer Wing lobby.

MyCSULA

myCSULA is a central location for viewing information from multiple internal and external resources. Information is presented through containers known as portlets. myCSULA will provide the university a direct communication channel to the campus community. Learn more.
