CSULA provides Shared Electronic Classrooms for faculty and students to enhance class lectures with computer Internet connection, audio and video equipment, and projectors. These classrooms are designed to provide faculty with up-to-date technology to assist them in teaching. There are four different types of Shared Electronic Classrooms.
The first type, Technologically Enhanced Classrooms (TEC), are equipped with a networked computer, a video/data projector (also referred to as a multimedia projector), a VCR, a DVD player (in most), speakers, and an overhead transparency projector. In addition to TEC, we also have Lecture Hall Classrooms (LEC). They are large classrooms equipped with a networked computer, a multimedia projector, a VCR, a DVD player, a public address (PA) system, and an overhead transparency projector. Furthermore, the Media Enhanced Classrooms (MEC) have a permanently mounted TV/VCR, a DVD player (in most), and an overhead transparency projector. Lastly, Electronic Classrooms (EC), also known as computer classrooms, contain between 15 and 35 computer workstations for "hands-on" instruction. Several ECs are equipped with multimedia projectors.
