Windows Medica Encoder

Distributing Content

After you have achieved your encoded content, you have several options to distribute it to your students. You can:

Live broadcasting from the computer directly to players is very simple. Windows Media players can directly connect to the computer encoding the content to see the live broadcasts. The Windows Media Encoder supports up to 50 unicast connections.

To broadcast content, you must specify the port through which the content streams. The Windows Media server or players can then connect to the content through the port, using HTTP. The URL for connecting over the Internet would be

http://IPaddress:portnumber

Change the IP address and port number to specify the actual IP address and port number. Once a Windows Media player establishes a connection with the computer encoding the media content, your audience will see the live broadcast.
