Requesting Web Space

Web space is available on the university web servers (www.calstatela.edu and web.calstatela.edu) for publishing educational, research, and other academic related material. Web space may be requested by Cal State L.A. student clubs and organizations, faculty, colleges, departments, centers, bureaus, and institutes. Requests may take up to 3 business days to process.

Note: All users who need to access the to web.calstatela.edu must have a UNIX account. UNIX accounts can be obtained by visiting the ITS Help Desk which is located in the Library Palmer Wing Lobby.

Colleges and Departments

To request web space for a college or department, the college dean or the department chair needs to submit the Web Space Request Form. One person needs to assume responsibility for the content published on the site. This person should be listed as the owner on the form. Other individuals needing access to the web space should be listed under group.

Centers, Bureaus, Institutes, Projects, and Grants

To request web space for a center, bureau, institute, special project or grant, the director or main administrator of the area needs to submit the Web Space Request Form. One person needs to assume responsibility for the content published on the site. This person should be listed as the owner on the form. Other individuals needing access to the web space should be listed under group.

Student Clubs and Organizations

To request web space for a recognized Cal State L.A. student club or organization, the President or Vice President of the club or organization needs to submit the Student Club and Organization Web Space Request Form.
