Artwork for Technology Enhanced ClassroomA short music clip, scene from a film, or diagram can add a bit of flair to a lecture or speech. Over 180 campus classrooms, lecture halls, and labs provide some sort of media presentation devices to help do just that!

Technology Enhanced Classrooms (TECs) are equipped VCRs, DVD players, overhead transparency projectors, and multimedia projector.

Lecture Halls are each equipped with PC/Mac, DVD/VCR, a Public Address (PA) system, and an overhead transparency projector. A multimedia projector mounted on the ceiling projects images from a PC or VCR but not overhead transparencies. For this, an overhead projector mounted on a rolling cart does the trick.

A wall mounted 27-inch TV/VCR combo and an overhead transparency projector are found in Media Classrooms (MECs). Some MECs and TECs also have DVD players.

Select the Technical Facilities link on the ITS Technical Support page for room locations, the type of equipment contained in each, and detailed user instructions.

Tip: If you’ve pulled the projection screen down so far that it won’t retract, try this. Grasp the bottom of screen with both hands and pull screen toward you about a foot. Then gently flick your wrists with a slight lifting motion, and the screen should rise. If not, report the problem to the ITS Help Desk at extension 3-6175.
