As part of an on-going effort to maintain a robust and secure network infrastructure, the University has begun the second Infrastructure Terminal Resource Project (ITRP2). The first ITRP project was completed over four years ago, and provided new Cisco network switches, new network cabling in each building, and in many cases, new telecommunication switch rooms. This second project will refresh the network switches to the newest Cisco models and enable an additional layer of network security.
The upgrade of the switches will be taking place over the next three weeks, and for the most part, will be done late at night and early in the morning in order to minimize the impact to the University. Your ITC and the ITS Help Desk will be able to assist you if you have any issues reconnecting to the network after your building has been upgraded.
Various operating systems settings to use if you are not automatically reconnected after your building has been upgraded:
Mac OS X Leopard (doc)
Mac OS X Tiger (doc)
Windows Vista (doc)
Windows XP (doc)
