Some of the handouts provided on this website include sample data files that can be used for hands-on practice. The data files are stored in self-extracting archives. The archives must be downloaded and executed in order to extract the data files.

Downloading Data Files
- Open Internet Explorer
. - Type the web address provided in the Downloading the Data Files section of the handout in the Address bar, and then press the Enter key. The File Download dialog box opens.

- Click the Save button. The Save As dialog box opens.

- Select a location to save the file, and then click the Save button. The Download complete dialog box opens.

- Click the Close button if the Download complete dialog box does not close automatically.
Extracting Data Files
- Open Windows Explorer
. - Navigate to the location where the file was saved.
- Double-click the file. The Open File dialog box opens.

- Click the Run button. The WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box opens.

- Click the Browse button and select a location to extract the data files.
- Click the Unzip button. A confirmation dialog box opens indicating the number of data files extracted.

- Click the OK button to close the confirmation dialog box.
- Click the Close button to close the WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box.
The data files can now be accessed using Windows Explorer. As you go through the handout, double-click the corresponding data files to open them in the appropriate application and follow along the step-by-step instructions.
