Buying an Lenovo Laptop
California State University Los Angeles has tested
and configured ThinkPad laptops for use as "secure" laptops.
ThinkPads have been the leader in incorporating fingerprint
readers with the Client Security Solution for years. Users can
authenticate with unique fingerprints instead of copious
passwords. Also, desktop administrators, with the help of this
technology, can implement strong security policies, protecting
sensitive and confidential data contained within.
For University purchases which need secure computing, ITS suggests one of three Lenovo models:
- X200 and X301 (ultra-lights). See X-Series Lenovo page.
- T400 (replacing the T61, a standard weight laptop. See T-Series Lenovo page.
- X61T and X200T (an ultra-light tablets). See X-Series Lenovo Tablet page.
