The Cal State LA Career Development Center provides career counseling and workshops for graduate students.

Child Care

The Anna Bing Arnold Children's Center provides early childhood care and education services for the Cal State LA campus community. 

Computer Labs & Information Technology

The ITS website provides 24-hour access to the self-service tools and self-help quick tips that assist students, faculty, and staff in finding answers and solving common issues.

There are five Open Access Labs (OALs) spread out on campus. These labs are available to assist Cal State LA students in accomplishing their academic goals for instruction and research. The Annex Link lab in Simpson Tower is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your electronic device is low on battery, a Kwikboost charging station is now available in all of the labs, equipped with Micro USB, Mini USB cables, iPad and iPhone (8-pin) USB chargers.

The Open Access Lab (OAL) smart rooms are multi-purpose rooms designed for students to collectively work on class projects and presentations. These rooms combine meeting, discussion and presentation venues, including workstation and presentation hardware and software configured similarly to campus lecture halls and Technology Enhanced Classrooms (TECs). Each is equipped with two networked computers (one PC and one Macintosh), a multimedia data projector, VCR, DVD, and document camera.

Annex Link (Simpson Tower) and King Hall Link OALs also offer group study rooms, immediately adjacent to smart rooms. These discussion room settings, each with a conference table and chairs, provide students with a place to work on class or group projects, or perhaps study together for upcoming tests.

Copying and Printing

The Open Access Lab (OAL) Wireless Printing Utility enables student users to send print jobs to OAL printers from their personal laptop computer.

Copying, printing, faxing, and scanning are also available in the library. A Cal State LA One Card is required for these transactions.

Financial Aid and Student Support Programs

The Center for Student Financial Aid is committed to assisting current and prospective students with financial assistance available from federal, state and institutional sources for their attendance at Cal State LA.

The National & International Scholarships and Fellowships Program (NISFeP) supports students in pursuing off-campus scholarships and fellowships that offer transformative and challenging experiences in the areas of academic and applied research, and global and civic learning. We work closely with students throughout the process, helping them strengthen their relationships with faculty mentors and develop their ability to present their knowledge, ideas, values, accomplishments, and goals succinctly and effectively.

The Office of Graduate Studies administers several Student Support Programs that promote academic excellence and professional development of graduate students at Cal State LA.

Golden Eagle Territory (GET)

GET provides access to your own personalized web page with services and information tailored to you. Students can view the course catalog and search the schedule of classes on-line. Not sure when you can register? You can view your enrollment appointment. During your enrollment appointment time you can register on line and take advantage of features like Adding Classes, Dropping Classes, and Swapping Classes.

Health and Wellness

The Cal State LA Student Health Center provides high-quality, affordable health care and health education for the students of Cal State LA to preserve and enhance their potential for academic success and personal development. It also seeks to serve as the primary health resource for the University and health advocate for the campus community. Services include chiropractic clinic, dental clinic, optometry clinic, family planning, immunizations, CPR training, health education, and more. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides professional and non-judgmental help with your personal growth and psychological wellness. CAPS specializes in mental health services which can help you express thoughts and feelings, gain perspective, alleviate emotional symptoms, improving coping skills, and make healthy changes in your life. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) are offered at the Student Health Center at no cost to currently enrolled students. You may also call CAPS directly at (323) 343–3314.

The Xtreme Fitness Center, located in the basement of the U-SU, is furnished with state-of-the-art fitness equipment and offers cutting-edge health and fitness programs, including personal training and a wide array of group exercise classes. The Center is free of charge to currently enrolled Cal State LA students who have paid the University-Student Union fee.

The Cal State LA Swimming Pool is open to current Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff for recreational lap swimming and other activities during hours specified on selected days of the week. Valid Cal State LA ID is required for entry.


Housing Services offers a comfortable living environment for Cal State LA students year round and conference space during summer. Our apartments are furnished and include fully equipped kitchens with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher.


The JFK Memorial Library supports the academic programs of Cal State LA through instruction, collections, technology, and services, which enable students and faculty to access recorded knowledge and information resources. 

The College and Department Liaison Librarians assist students in understanding and learning the library research process.

Graduate cubicles may be reserved in the library for up to two semesters, based on availability. In addition to the space available in the GRC, students may also reserve group study rooms in the library on a first-come, first-served basis.

International Students

The staff of the International Office is here to help you maintain your visa status while studying, researching, and/or working on campus. The office also plans on-campus activities, field trips, and events to help deepen the cultural exchange experience, as well as acclamate new international visitors to the Cal State LA campus community. 

The Graduate Resource Center hosts the International Graduate Student Peer Support Program, which partners new international graduate students with continuing international or domestic graduate students to help new students adjust to campus life at Cal State LA and the greater Los Angeles community. My Cal State LA

My Cal State LA is the online hub for several services available to students, faculty, and staff, including GET and Moodle.

Office of Graduate Studies

The Office of Graduate Studies provides leadership and service to promote graduate studies and to provide research development support services to the university community.

One Card

The Cal State LA One Card is the official identification card for the university.

Safety and Transportation

The Department of Public Safety, which includes the University Police, encompasses several units working toward the same goal of ensuring that the campus is a safe place to study, teach, work, reside, and visit. In case of emergency while at Cal State LA, please call (323) 343–3700 from your mobile phone.

The Public Safety Escort Service is available to students, faculty, staff, and visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may also call (323) 343–3700 for more information.

Students and visitors may obtain parking permits from Parking Services, either in person at the Parking and Transportation Service Center or online. Metro passes, Metrolink tickets, and other incentives for alternate forms of transportation may be obtained from Transportation Services

Campus tours are a great way to familiarize yourself with Cal State LA and to see all that we have to offer.
