**Attention Fall 2016 (F & J Visa) International Applicants

If you studied at an institution outside the US, you will need to have your foreign academic work evaluated by International Education Research Foundation (IERF) for initial evaluation to expedite the admissions process.

Visit  to create an online application, requesting the "Detailed Report.”  The evaluation fee is $165 (USD). When submitting your coursework to IERF, please make sure to indicate that you were referred by CSU Los Angeles - Office of Graduate Studies and that the evaluation report should be sent directly to CSU Los Angeles - Office of Graduate Studies. After the application has been completed online, you will need to send your original academic records to IERF for evaluation. (Do not send them to CSULA.) Upon completion of the evaluation report, your documents will be returned to you.

Important Tips:

  1. For all studies completed outside the US, official academic records must be submitted for evaluation (e.g., transcripts for each year of study, along with the degree certificate, if applicable).
  2. For country-specific requirements, be sure to refer to Bear in mind again that the educational records must be original, official documents.
  3. Transcripts cannot be submitted by email, copy or fax.
  4. Mailing: Official academic records may be sent directly by the international institution OR by the applicant. If the academic records are submitted by you, it is recommend that you pay for their return by secure mailing, as a tracking service is included (e.g., UPS, DHL…). This mailing option will be listed on the online application. (Records sent directly by the institution of study, however, will become IERF property. As such, these will not be mailed to the applicant.)

*Please note your application will not be considered until your IERF report has been submitted to CSULA. If you mailed your academic records directly to CSULA, your file will not be reviewed and the transcripts will not be returned to you.
