INTRODUCTION
Taylor E. Dark is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at California State University, Los Angeles. From 1996 to 2004 he was Associate Professor and Associate Dean in the Graduate School of American Studies at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.
He is the author of The Unions and The Democrats: An Enduring Alliance (Cornell University Press, 2001) and numerous articles on labor unions and party politics in the United States.
