Grading: Assignments will be graded as “all or nothing.” Successful completion of the assignment will increase your class grade by 1/3 (e.g. B+ will be bumped to A-)

Write a two-page account (typed, double-spaced). Your account should address the following:

(1)   Briefly describe the event. 

(2)   What is one thing you learned?

(3)   How does it connect to themes discussed in class?

The panel will feature writers, artists, and scholars who will discuss the media frenzy surrounding Jackson, issues including sexuality, the body, race, color, and the narrative arc and essential tragedy of Michael Jackson’s life and career.
