Winter 2012, Salazar Hall C259, Wednesdays 6:10pm-10:00pm Prerequisite: CIS 484 or permission of instructor. Objectives: This course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how to design and manage local area networks. Current network types and evolving networking technologies are introduced, wich include Ethernet networks, router configuration, TCP/IP networks, routing protocols, local & campus network configuration, network security, the network server, etc. Students will learn about the equipments and technologies used in LANs and popular protocols and common network services. Hands-on projects will provide studednts with real experience in using some of the tools involved in network design, analysis, implementation, and troubleshooting. |
