Stewart Venit has been teaching mathematics and computer science at Cal State, L. A. since 1971. He is a past Department Chair and a recipient of the University's Outstanding Professor Award. He has authored numerous journal articles and more than a dozen college-level textbooks.
Professor Venit teaches a variety of math courses at all levels, ranging from Introduction to College Mathematics to graduate-level Numerical Analysis. He is especially interested in the application of modern computer technology to the teaching of mathematics.
Professor Venit has published journal articles in the areas of numerical analysis and linear algebra, as well as some related to the teaching of mathematics. He has authored textbooks on linear algebra, programming languages, and various versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. He is also interested in Sabermetrics, the application of statistics to the analysis of baseball. Representative Professional Activities
