EXAMINATIONS
The
mid-term exam will be 100 minutes long and is tentatively scheduled for the
second class session of the sixth week of the quarter. The final examination
will be 2.5 hours (150 minutes) long at the time specified in the schedule of
classes.

Your
grade in the course will be based on the following approximate
grading scale. The actual letter grade divisions will vary slightly upward, or
more probably, downward depending on the distribution of numerical scores in the
class and the difficulty of exams.

HOMEWORK
Deadlines:
The first half of the homework
will be due at the time of the mid-term exam, and will be collected and checked
during that exam. The second half of the homework will be due at the time of the
final exam, and will be collected and checked during that exam. No early or late
homework will be accepted.
Format:
There are no special requirements for the homework other than it be neatly and
legibly done. The homework problems should be arranged in the correct numerical
sequence. If a homework problem is out of sequence, please make a note as to
where the problem is located at the place that it would normally be located.

based on the percentage of the assigned problems that are successfully
completed.
