On June 27, 2004, we watched the women's olympic water-polo teams from Hungary and the USA battle for first place at the 2004 FINA Women's Water Polo World League Superfinal in Long Beach, California. Eight teams participated: Australia, Canada, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, and USA. The USA team finished in first place, Hungary in second, and Italy in third. The event was held in a marvelously well-engineered temporary 10,000-seat stadium, with an above-ground swimming pool, erected in the parking lot of the Long Beach Sports Arena.

My name is Edmund Marco and it's a pleasure to sign your guest book. I work for an advertising agency in London. Our agency represents direct marketing companies that are involved in the marketing of products as seen on TV in England. Most of the infomercial products come from the U.S. but then again we export our talents as well. My brother has appeared in infomercials in the U.S. advertising various products. I think it's hilarious that English people respond so well to American products while Americans tend to respond well to sales people who have an English accent!

Hello Mr. Felszeghy, I stumbled onto your web page and remembered you as one of my Professors in 1979-1980 at CSULA. Just want to say hello and thank you for your teaching efforts. I received my BSEE in 1982 from CSULA and went to work for Rockwell where I been since. Except the part of Rockwell I work for is now Boeing, in Anaheim. I've had the privilege of working on missile, airplane, and submarine engineering tasks throughout the years. Your website is very nice too. Best Wishes, John Araujo

Hello Steve and Diana! Today is Tuesday 02/06/01. I was not sure about your e-mail adress but I remembered how to get into Steves CSULA website. I was writing to say that I was thinking about the two of you this past weekend. Hoping that the moving process started out well. The house looks lovely. We saw the pictures on the website. Sorry I couldn't have been there to help out. We are all okay. All of us but Tyler are suffering from colds but other than that things are well. Happy Valentine's Day next week and I know your Wedding Anniversary is coming up so Happy Anniversary also. Is this two or three years? So Long, Tavo.

A POEM FOR THOSE OVER 30

> A computer was something on TV
> From a science fiction show of note
> A window was something you hated to clean
> And ram was the cousin of a goat.

> > Meg was the name of my girlfriend
> And gig was a job for the nights
> Now they all mean different things
> And that really mega bytes.

> > An application was for employment
> A program was a TV show
> A cursor used profanity
> A keyboard was a piano.

> > Memory was something that you lost with age
> A CD was a bank account
> And if you had a 3-in. floppy
> You hoped nobody found out.

> > Compress was something you did to the garbage
> Not something you did to a file
> And if you unzipped anything in public
> You'd be in jail for a while.

> > Log on was adding wood to the fire
> Hard drive was a long trip on the road
> A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
> And a backup happened to your commode.

> > Cut you did with a pocket knife
> Paste you did with glue
> A web was a spider's home
> And a virus was the flu.

> > I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper
> And the memory in my head
> I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
> But when it happens they wish they were dead.

Happiness is a journey, not a goal to reach someday: Sometimes in chasing rainbows we let sunbeams slip away. Why wait until tomorrow when today holds joy to share, to make a moment brighter to show someone you care. So let your heart lead you and enjoy life's little things.... Walk aware of happiness the daily journey brings.

Reply from SFF: Thanks for your concern. On Oct. 2, I tripped and fell in the dark on a large bulge in the sidewalk less than 50 yards from my campus office. In a split second I suffered lacerations and abrasions on my upper lip, chin, back of my left hand and forearm, right palm and left knee. A two-inch cut on my knee needed to be sutured. As of Oct. 22, my wounds are pretty much healed but the stitches in my knee are still in.
Your homepage is very, neat, thorough, and informative. Why am I not surprised? Because it is just like everything else you do. It was nice catching up with you six months ago. Keep up the good work István, Stefan, Esteban... Now I understand :)

On Jan. 31, I visited the Vincent van Gogh exhibit of paintings, from Amsterdam, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The exhibit runs from Jan. 17 to May 16, 1999. The exhibit spans the painting years of Van Gogh's short life. One can discern from Van Gogh's paintings how his growing anxieties gradually overwhelmed his artistic aspirations.

Reply from SFF: Nice to hear from you Tim! For various reasons, CSULA has decided not to compete, with the Solar Eagle III car, in the upcoming World Solar Challenge to be held in Oct. 99 in Australia. Tim Swann is a CSULA ME alumnus who is still remembered for, among other things, stuffing the ballot boxes when our campus voted on selecting a new mascot. Tim's winning entry was "The Oysters" which was promptly rejected by our university's president.
Congratulations. It's been a long time since we've last seen you in Pleasant Hill from your days at Berkeley. Perhaps we'll meet again soon. So long.

Merry Crickets! Well, at least that's all you should expect to hear in the background at the Hollywood Bowl outdoor amphitheater. But, noise from a rock concert at the nearby John Anson Ford Amphitheater??? Give me a break! That's exactly what happened last night when the Budapest Festival Orchestra performed works from Liszt and Brahms in the Bowl. What a disgrace to treat a visiting orchestra and the audience to such noise intrusion! The powers that be at the Hollywood Bowl and the Ford Amphitheater should be ashamed for scheduling these two events at the same time!
