My research focuses upon issues surrounding 'best interest' theory, that is to say, issues involving children who are, for a variety of reasons, reliant upon the courts to determine custody, visitation or placement. My dissertation examined the differences between the professionals, both legal professionals and mental health professions, who have to make those custody determinations. I am currently working on several smaller articles based upon the the larger data base that provided the basis of that exploration. As an expert in the field of child custody, I present on a regular basis to parents who are in the process of mediation and/or divorce and are having difficulty in their custody agreements. These presentations are required attendance for those seeking a divorce in Los Angeles County. This program 'Parents and Children Together' (PACT) has had a major influence in educating parents as to how custody is decided upon and maintained. Representative Professional Activities
