My Personal Testimony

I was born June 8, 1969 in Los Angeles, California. At the age of about one my
parents broke up and I moved with my mother. I spent my early childhood living
in New Orleans with my mother and two sisters. Although my immediate family
weren't Christians I grew up in a very religious environment. I myself was an
atheist from the earliest childhood memories I can remember. I don't know if it
was so much that I didn't believe in the existence of a God as much as I thought
religion was just superstition and that Christians annoyed me.

As I grew older I became more and more open to God. Basically I stopped basing my
opinion of God and Christianity on the practices of others and started to
investigate for myself. I can't say I was searching for God, I was still very
young, I was just thinking about it. I started reading the bible and came to a
better understanding of the idea of salvation. One day someone passed me a Christian
tract, a mini-pamphlet talking about getting a relationship with Christ. I pretty
much already knew what it was saying. The only thing that really stood out to me
was that it emphasized that a choice must be made. I gave my life to Christ several
months later. I was about 11 years old.

I have been living with Christ ever since. I can't say that I've been the perfect
Christian but I can definitely say that Jesus has been the perfect God.

A Quote (1 Timothy 3:16)
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world,
received up into glory.
