BACKGROUND

Dr. LaPolt received his Ph.D. in Anatomy at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1988, followed by postdoctoral training in Reproductive Endocrinology/Cellular & Molecular Biology at U.C. San Diego and Stanford University.

TEACHING INTERESTS

Dr. LaPolt has taught courses in Human Anatomy & Physiology and Endocrinology. In addition, he provides research training to undergraduate and graduate students in the Dept. of Biological Sciences.

RESEARCH

Dr. LaPolt's research program focuses on the regulation of gene expression in the reproductive system, with emphasis on the signaling mechanisms regulating ovarian granulosa cell maturation and the effects of aging on the neuroendocrine mechanisms regulating gonadotropin synthesis and release.  Listed below are some of his more recent research publications.
